There’s no tool that’s more core to the grill master’s arsenal than the BBQ brush. So, it might come as a surprise that this product category has largely been untouched when it comes to thoughtful innovation. The lack of innovation in the market, has resulted in tiny sharp wire bristles breaking off from wire BBQ brushes and clinging to the BBQ grates. These small wire bristles can go undetected and adhere to your food with the possibility of being ingested, causing life threating injuries. I personally had a very close call ……that’s when my journey began! Google search “dangers of wire BBQ brushes”.
After, spending endless hours doing market research and reading reviews on grill cleaning tools that fail to satisfy an array of users, I knew, I needed to provide a solution that was dramatically disruptive in this space.
This was very challenging, as grill grate configurations vary in shape, size and spacing from one model to another model. To be successful at this….I realized the design needed to be versatile and adaptable to be able to accommodate various types of grill grates.
MISSION ACCOMPLISH!! The BBQ scraper is worth taking about!
It’s an adjustable BBQ grill grate scraper. It’s designed with a plurality of smooth, thin wooden blades and a locking mechanism, wherein the locking mechanism can be in an unlocked position, which will allow the scraper blades to slide up and down and a locked position where the wooden scraper blades are locked in place. The locking mechanism applies a lateral compressive force on the plurality of scraper blades, which transforms to a solid block of wood in the locked position and has a powerful grip on the grates.
A user, simply centers the scraper on the grill grate, presses downward on the blades to form the desired shape of the grill grate and locks in the grill profile. This replicates, a precise copy of the grill grate configuration. So simple, but it takes things to a whole other level, you can shape & re-shape and customize any shape, any time. In addition, the scraper blades are designed with a wide blade, so when the profile is made the blades reach the entire sides of the grate. Another, great benefit of the scraper is that the blades are bio-degradable and designed to be rotated 180 degrees for extended wear. The wooden blades should last about 1.5 years and then rotated for another year or so.
Sheer determination and belief in myself lead to an amazing idea, while stepping outside the “norm” in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
So, what’s left to say….except, you have an alternative - wire BBQ brushes, wooden paddles or the adjustable BBQ scraper.
